hm. seeing as i live in the sticks (lakes area, greater minnesota -- alexandria) there isn't any real metro area near me, but pretty much everything i need is here (within 5 miles or so). not a whole heck of a lot to do, unfortunately. lots of fishing and taking random walks and bicycle rides...

someday i'm going to take a vacation to california, because it seems to suck in everyone of my friends that even just stay there for any extended amount of time...

I'd totally moderate this community, if someone presented me the opportunity. Its a shame that its inactive.

As to the weather here, lets just say that last Sunday I was able to go tan at the beach. Its been hovering in the upper 60s to mid 70s lately. I don't think we got down below 50 more than once or twice this last winter. So yes, it is just as nice as everyone says it is. The only downside is that the city (Los Angeles) stretches on forever, and to travel any meaningful distance seems to take twice as long as it would in the Twin Cities.

Fortunately, everywhere I need to go (church, work, home, hair salon, grocery store, Target, bank) is within walking distance. But its certainly not as green and beautiful as Minneapolis/Minnesota. The presence of palm trees and other tropical/sub-tropical foliage make up for that though. And there's always something to do here.

hm. i think 'once a minnesotan, always a minnesotan' no matter where you live... because if i were to move to a warmer place i'd always be like "bah! it was -75 degrees blah blah blah..." whenever people are complaining that it's cold when it's 60 degrees [above zero].

if only it were still active. i'd love a minnesota community on here!!
how do you like california? is it as nice as everyone says it is?

Awww... Inactivity is no good. I wonder though if the group accepts Minnesotan expatriate members. Now that I live in California and all...

eh, its no matter. I was just excited cause I would have made it a road trip to go. But then I couldn't find it on a map. Michigan is neat. They have a Paradise, Hell and Christmas.

There sure is a Hell Minnesota.
Couldn't tell you were it is, probably by tower or that other place it gets stupidly cold (more so then the rest of the state) durring the winter.

Hi everyone, I am new here at DA and just found this group. I am from Eden Prairie in Hennepin County!
